KUALA LUMPUR: Weststar Maxus Sdn Bhd, the Weststar Group’s automotive arm and distributor of Maxus vehicles in Malaysia, has previewed its upcoming T60 pick-up truck at its Weststar Maxus Jalan Tun Razak showroom.
Two variants are displayed — the introductory basic model and the high spec model.
Both models are powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The entry level model is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, while the high spec model is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The basic model is fitted with black front grille, halogen headlamps and fabric seats. The high spec model is equipped with chrome grille, LED headlamps, leather seats and rear sports bar.
Most of the safety features available on the Australian spec will be available in the Malaysian version.
At the same time, Weststar Maxus will try to keep the price below RM100,000.
There were no indication on when the company plans to launch the truck, but sources close to the company said “it will take a month or two” and “the Malaysian specs may vary from the models in preview”.
The Maxus T60 will be on display until Sunday.
